Welcome to Altiplano Alpacas, LLC

Welcome to Altiplano Alpacas, LLC!

Altiplano Alpacas LLC is a small ranching operation consisting of 8 gorgeous Huacaya alpacas (and two cats).  By the end of October 07, we anticipate having a new addition from the union of our Eros' Moonshadow and Windrush's stunning herdsire, Zindel, or Zinny.  It should be a spectacular cria and we will be thrilled with a female or male.

At present our alpacas are agisted (boarded) at AlpacaWorks, located about 10 miles southeast of Santa Fe.  If you would like to visit us there, we would love to show you around and introduce you to all the alpacas.  Take I-25 north, about 5 miles past the last of three exits into Santa Fe (Old Pecos), and get off at exit 290, which links to Hwy. 285 south.  Head south about 5 miles to Jacinto Road on the west side of the highway.  Follow Jacinto to the second driveway and turn left (or south) to the fork in the driveway. AlpacaWorks is on the left (the rust-colored barn).  We'd love to talk alpaca with you, showing you the wide array of colors and fleece types, from pet quality to very top quality show animals.

We work in partnership with AlpacaWorks and our fellow-agisters: Que Sera Alpacas & Milagro Meadows Alpacas, to offer comprehensive services from several experienced breeders instead of one.  We believe that our collective efforts are far greater than we could ever achieve alone, and the services available to customers is greatly benefitted by our collaboration.

In addition to our "collection" of 36-40 alpacas at the ranch, there are two wonderful Great Pyrenees, Jenny and Lucy, to greet visitors at the ranch and bestow upon them their abundant affection. When night falls, however, they get to business guarding the barns and alpacas of AlpacaWorks & Friends, as well as those of Sagebrush Alpacas next door.  We can only conclude that where there's an alpaca in need of guarding," they will be there! They are fabulous dogs, and we highly recommend them to anyone who is trying to decide which type of guardian dog they should get for their alpaca ranch or farm.

Altiplano Alpacas is an active member & supporter of the Alpaca Breeders of New Mexico (NMAB). It has many interesting events posted on its website, where you can also learn more about all the ranch members in New Mexico.
